Longhorn Cheer

Lakewood Longhorn Cheer

We are excited about the upcoming season. We look forward to providing new and returning cheerleaders with a quality program that helps all participants learn and understand the sport of cheerleading in a safe & respectful environment that allows the cheerleaders to grow personally and athletically.

At LPJF we pride ourselves in promoting the sport of cheer as athletic, disciplined and competitive activity. We emphasize teamwork, sportsmanship, dedication, perseverance, and commitment. Every cheerleader who participates in our program is required to make a full commitment to their teams. Participating in our program not only prepares our youth for a future at the high school level athletically and academically.

Our cheer program, is proud to be a strong youth program for girls ages 5 to 14. Our cheer teams travel with the football teams and perform in front of our fans during each game. In addition to performing at football games our cheer teams are involved in competitive cheer competitions regionally and nationally.

Our cheer program offers the following:

  • Introduction to the sport of cheerleading
  • Making new & lasting friendships
  • Improving health through regular exercise
  • Building self confidence & self esteem
  • Promoting teamwork & sportsmanship
  • Cheering at real football games
  • Going to cheer camp
  • Learning cheer routines, tumbling & stunting
  • Competing in competitions to earn medals & trophies
  • Lots of fun and much, much more

Cheer team sizes are limited and are filled on a first come, first serve basis. We do not hold tryouts, all girls are welcome.

To guarantee a place on a team we strongly suggest signing up early. Our cheerleading teams are an essential part of our football program. By providing a wholesome environment for athletic competition Lakewood Cheer will instill in our youth the challenge of competition, the joy of victory, the reality of defeat, the importance of commitment, and the spirit of community.
